1 exercise3 min - 31 min The Art Science and Application of Kundalini Yoga

Yogi Bhajan said that this meditation carried the power of splitting the atom. It is a wonderful clearing meditation by itself. It is also wonderful to practice after another meditation when you are in a relaxed and still state. It can help you to extend that lovely peaceful space.

1. Meditation for Silent Clearing

Comments: This is a silent meditation that involves feeling or visualizing energy movement along the path of the "Golden Cord." This is the energetic pathway and connection between the pituitary and pineal gland in the head. Those familiar with Kirtan Kriya meditation will recognize what is commonly called the "L" form visualization. There are no time limitations for this kriya.

Meditation for Silent Clearing (3 minutes to 31 minutes)
  1. Sit in any position you like.
  2. Eyes are gently closed and focused at the brow point.
  3. Mentally chant the Panj Shabd mantra in this form: "Sa-a Ta-a Na-a Ma-a". Each "-a" extends the intial sound. Pronounce the "-a" like a short "u" sound, as in the word "cut".
  4. Visualize each initial sound entering the top center of your head down into the pineal gland, and then project the "-a" forward through the pituitary gland and out the brow point.
  5. Continue repeating the mantra silently, in through the top of the head, out through the brow point.
To End
  1. Inhale, hold the breath briefly, and then relax.
