... So you all attacked the City Hall today? How many of you went there?

Students: (-----)

YB: See. I was ordered to come late because people are going to attack the city hall. So I am a peaceful man I thought I better not participate. Everyone who does mistakes are considered to be a fool or not very bright, not very intelligent, not very religious, call anything you want to call. Call any negative thing to anybody has equal positive. Has?

Students: Equal positive.

YB: Then where lies the tragedy? Tragedy is when you know what is right and then you do wrong. That is tragedy. Nobody can trouble anybody, but everybody is in trouble because when things do not happen according to your plan you get into trouble. So when you are so good and you plan everything, stupid when you plan God doesn't plan for you, then you are right in the ditch. Two things cannot happen. Either you do it or let Him do it.

There was a person, he was going to Vaishnodevi. He couldn't travel because the temple is on a big mountain, high up, so he hired a horse. So horseman took the horse in front of him, started walking. This guy got very upset. Because he has the reins of horse also in his hand. He kicked the horse and started walking. The man said, "For God's sake stop, it doesn't work this way."

He said, "I have no tolerance that you should walk (?) in my front and that's the way I don't want to go."

He said, "Then you will go."

This man ran with his horse, after a while horse just stopped. Because horse doesn't have a habit. It was not an Arabian race horse. He stopped, this guy fell right. And there was one thousand feet that depth on that side, he rolled on the side and ended up in the ditch. Anyway, police came, brought helicopter, got him out, took him to hospital, he survived. His almost everything was broken. So when he came out of the shell, that man who lent him his horse on the rent came, he said, "Didn't I tell you it doesn't work?"

He said, "After all, that is a road."

He said, "I have been driving people up and down twenty-five years. It doesn't work that way. The road to the temple is very steep. Horse cannot survive. You should have let me take the horse, you should have followed the journey, you should have done that."

Similarly in your life you have not one thing and doesn't matter what you have, you can have all the money, all the beauty, all the sex, all the boyfriend, all the girlfriend, God knows what you want. Go to hell. But if you have no patience for your own self you have nothing. Patience that nothing can move you.

Somebody said patience is impossible. This guy said patience is possible. So one day this guy was sitting, somebody came, started yelling, screaming, abusing, talking in high tone, all provocations in the planet. This guy was sitting and reading newspaper. He kept reading. And he called name to his mother, to his family, to him. Somebody said, "Stop him!"

He said, "Don't worry, in few minutes you will see he is stopped."

After that he started jumping, putting his hand and this and that. Finally he fell on the floor. This man who was reading newspaper said, "I have one page to read, could you please pick him up and take him to hospital?"

He said, "You knew it?"

He said, "Yes, he was consuming himself."

You consume your good luck, you consume your destiny, you consume your dignity, you consume your grace, you consume your gift of God, that of pranaPraana , Prana The universal life force that gives motion. It is the breath in air. It is the subtle breath of the purusha as it vibrates with a psychophysical energy or presence. Praana regulates the modes and moods of the mind. of life and then you blame others for it. It doesn't work that way. As a human institution you are complete. Will you follow the path of grace, patience, self-control or... You know why these all women are in trouble, do you know that? It is God is very natural, He has made woman to find an anchor. Yes, woman is supposed to find an anchor in herself. Whenever she tries to find an anchor outside herself she is in trouble. If you ever (?) life and all your troubles, your trouble lies when you find your anchor outside of you. Anything which is outside of you is trouble. Food, right? Food, you have to eat, right? To live you have to eat, is that true? Is that true?

Students: Yes sir.

YB: Your stomach gets in trouble what for? Food. There is nothing more to be divine and holy, except one thing. You have nine gates and tenth gate is yourself. Watch what comes in and what goes out. And a person who accommodates himself that way always is accommodated. God can forgive you, there is no problem. Mother nature will never forgive you. That's the law which God cannot cross. Mother nature is do it, it will be done to you. Aava-Gavan, action has a reaction equal and opposite.

"Jisnu aap khvae karta khasley changey aayi."

If God wants to ruin you, He will take from you the good manners. You will lose and you will become temperamental. He will take away from you your temper and when you are losing your temper, or you will become a hippy. You know what a hippie is? I have lot of years of experience. Do you know what a hippie is? Hey, this is wrong. Everything is right and wrong, it's a matter of judgment, you are sitting in my judgment, there is no right and no wrong, wrong is right, right is wrong. Have you seen them talking like that?

(Students' laughter...)

Remember sixties?

Students: (-----)

YB: I was one among you. Hey, drugs should not be taken. No, no, sir, drugs are God given things. You take few brownies then you will talk.

(Students' laughter...)

One day somebody brought my breakfast. I said, "You should eat it."

"No sir, no sir, I brought it for you. With great devotion, dedication I prepared."

I said, "That's what I am saying. You should eat it. Sit down, sit down, eat it, please."

"I can't eat it..."

"Why can't? If you can't eat it how can I eat it?"

The guy knew there is an ounce of cocaine in it.

"No, sir you should..."

I said, "I am talking to you. Just have little. First you will start, and I'll eat your leftover, come on."

"Can't, can't, I can't... I have brought it for my teacher, I can't."

I said, "I know. I fully understand it."

Human self is very equivalent. Where else he has Vishaltha, expansion, man has expansion and then he has contraction. Contracts. That creates fear, that creates insecurity, he doesn't care for grace. When it is expansion he is the king of kings.

There are three things in life which are very important-ConsciousnessConsciousness The nature of the self and being. In the realm of nature, awareness becomes consciousness. It is from the being itself. Being is expressed in consciousness through contrasts and sensations, in awareness through merger, clarity, and reality. , caliber and character. ConsciousnessConsciousness The nature of the self and being. In the realm of nature, awareness becomes consciousness. It is from the being itself. Being is expressed in consciousness through contrasts and sensations, in awareness through merger, clarity, and reality. ...

Students: Caliber.

YB: And character. But when you are in trouble, we all become in trouble, there is no hiding the way that somebody is above trouble, nobody. Everybody got, trouble is like waves, it comes. It hits you, it's not something wrong. What you should do? At that time come within yourself. Even you go to church, go there to come within yourself. Go to synagogue, go. Go to GurdwaraGurdwara Literally the door of the Guru; traditional place where Sikh worship services are held. , go for that. Just learn to go within yourself. Because minus you out of you, minus?

Students: (-----)

YB: You are ugly. You don't believe it? When you die what goes out of you? You. When you die what is taken out of you? Your body is there. Relatives are there, your money is still in the bank, your car is still standing outside. Telephone is still there, but your boyfriend can all you, "Hi, honey!" But you are not there to answer. Honey has gone out. These small things have to be understood. That's why in the word of Nanak,

"Mera muj mein kuch nahi sab kuch hai to tero namNaam , Nam The manifested identity of the essence. The word derives from Naa-ay-ma , which means "that which is not, now is born." A Naam gives identity, form, and expression to that which was only essence or subtle before. It is also referred to as the Word. . Tera tujko saunpo oh lagey, mera namNaam , Nam The manifested identity of the essence. The word derives from Naa-ay-ma , which means "that which is not, now is born." A Naam gives identity, form, and expression to that which was only essence or subtle before. It is also referred to as the Word. ."

I have nothing of mine O lord, all belongs to you, I gave all yours to you. Nothing belongs to me. That is the real freedom. What you will get out of it?

"Tehel Mehel Thaanko Mileay Jaha Pey Sant Kirpal."

Then you will have services and palaces and all the comforts. Then the Infinity will give you in the finite form the virtues and values of the Infinity. Let us see how you get by self-reliance and self-reliance is the way of life.

Sit down and kindly put your chin in. "Jalandhar bundh." Locking of the throat. Put your chin in and sit with your folded hands like this. That when you act as an egomaniac, as a child, you remember those days? Just like that, please. Get to it. If the posture is complete then sentiments must be pure. And sentiments are concentrate on breath of life.

Inhale deep through the mouth. Then come out of the nose. Please. Do it right. Make O of your mouth, breathe in deep and from the two nostrils let it go. It may disturb your lungs or something. Don't worry, it happens. Some of you are missing Punjabi classes. We have been very much tolerant of you. We are going to send a special squad, Punjabi squad to see that you join these most beautiful thing, reading of GurbaniGurbani Word of the Guru, Refers particularly to the words from the Siri Guru Granth Sahib. , beginning Punjabi conversation, intermediate Punjabi conversation, exploring Sikh teachings and tradition. Thank you for many blessings. By the grace of GuruGuru That which takes us from ignorance to knowledge; from darkness, gu, to light, ru. It can be a person, a teaching, or in its most subtle form - the Word. Guru Ram Das Fourth Guru of the Sikhs. Ram DasGuru Ram Das Fourth Guru of the Sikhs.
