… Come, come, come your teacher has come. Run, run from bathroom. You know, this is Unites States of America and in twelve years they have not learnt how to squeeze the towels and not keep it very wet. You know that. Twelve years have gone. Nobody has learned that. Amazing. Rate of acceleration.

There is a statement in the Siri GuruGuru That which takes us from ignorance to knowledge; from darkness, gu, to light, ru. It can be a person, a teaching, or in its most subtle form - the Word. GranthGranth Literally: knot: book. ,

GuruGuru That which takes us from ignorance to knowledge; from darkness, gu, to light, ru. It can be a person, a teaching, or in its most subtle form - the Word. Kripa thay Pagath Kamayi, Taaye Maanas Dehi Payi, Iis Dehi Ko SimranSimran A deep meditative process in which the naam of the Infinite is remembered and dwelled in without conscious effort. Dey.’

Through the GuruGuru That which takes us from ignorance to knowledge; from darkness, gu, to light, ru. It can be a person, a teaching, or in its most subtle form - the Word. ’s blessing, through the GuruGuru That which takes us from ignorance to knowledge; from darkness, gu, to light, ru. It can be a person, a teaching, or in its most subtle form - the Word. ’s blessing we did bhaktiBhakti Self-purification, The devotional form of yoga practiced by a Bhakta. , bhaktiBhakti Self-purification, The devotional form of yoga practiced by a Bhakta. , bhaktiBhakti Self-purification, The devotional form of yoga practiced by a Bhakta. means devotional worship of God, “GuruGuru That which takes us from ignorance to knowledge; from darkness, gu, to light, ru. It can be a person, a teaching, or in its most subtle form - the Word. kripa thay pagath kamayi, taaye maanas dehi payi.” That is why we got this human body. Maanas means human, dehi means body.

Dey.’

The angels, angels worship this body. SimranSimran A deep meditative process in which the naam of the Infinite is remembered and dwelled in without conscious effort. means a worship, a longing is called simrana. SimranSimran A deep meditative process in which the naam of the Infinite is remembered and dwelled in without conscious effort. dey is dehi ko. So this body there are two identities of God. One is the devilish; the other is angelic. Angel and devil. In your body when you are positive, your ego is positive then you are angelic and when your will is gone, dewill, you are a devil. So it is something which happens somewhere in the phenomena, it is not something which happens somewhere in the phenomena, and it doesn’t happen inside you. It happens inside you.

One person once left 3HO, he was just very dear son of mine, very dear. And we raised him from nothing, we made him everything and then I met him in one crossing of life, we were talking. I said to him in a very casual manner. I said, “So and so, between you and me, I want to know why you left. There was nothing to leave. Because when you were working for your spirit there are lot of people who were related to you, you have lot of people’s confidence, people gave you everything on trust, not on collateral.”

There are two ways of the world. Trust and collateral. There are two ways of life, trust and collateral. I said, “You are very good in SadhanaSadhana , Saadhana A spiritual discipline; the early morning practice of yoga, meditation, and other spiritual exercises. The Aquarian Sadhana can be an individual or group practice; Ideally, it includes the recitation of Japji Sahib, a Kundalini Yoga kriya, and chanting the Aquarian Sadhana meditations, immediately followed by Gurdwara. According to Yogi Bhajan, the potency of any Kundalini Yoga and meditation practice will be enhanced in a group setting. , I am very much in affection and devotion, you left why?”

He asked me, he said, “Sir, should I tell you whether it is right or wrong, I don’t want to lie, I want to tell you the truth.”

I said, “Go ahead.”

He said, “I couldn’t take the discipline.” He said, “3HO is too righteous.”

I said, “What is wrong with that it is too righteous?”

He said, “It is wrong because it does not give any leeway for anything to be wrong, morally, ethically, socially, politically, anything.”

And I said to him, I said, “Do you not understand that in every preciousness of life there is always a test…” and test is duality.

I have seen a very particular person who went through this duality. How many people are from Washington D.C. here? Do you know Siri Ram Kaur? You all know her? There came a time of duality in her life, as it comes in every life and I remember one day I called her on phone and she said to me, “I don’t have any hope, I don’t think I can make it.”

That was exact quote. I said, “Siri Ram, I need you and I want you and I know what you are going through, at this time normally the spirituality…” This is ShaktiShakti The creative power and principle of existence itself. Without it nothing can manifest or bloom. It is feminine in nature. pad, when it comes to ShaktiShakti The creative power and principle of existence itself. Without it nothing can manifest or bloom. It is feminine in nature. pad you do not listen to your spiritual teacher. That is one sign of ShaktiShakti The creative power and principle of existence itself. Without it nothing can manifest or bloom. It is feminine in nature. pad. And God made it that way. You maybe very loving, near, beloved of your teacher, but when ShaktiShakti The creative power and principle of existence itself. Without it nothing can manifest or bloom. It is feminine in nature. pad hits you it's like fever. That is the fever in which you cannot open your eyes. Exactly that is what happens to people. And answer came, “Okay, I’ll come.”

And it was surprising, it is one simple surprising case where she got back into the gear, tightened her belt, put her banaBana , Baana One's outward projection, often refers to a specified clothing that projects a consciousness. , and there she is back. And not only that, the test did not stop there. There was no big reception. Don’t misunderstand that. And she didn’t bring with her bags of suits and all that stuff. It was a very humble beginning. With that humble beginning there was so much work she was put to and she took it so gracefully that I in my own life could not believe it that people can have that virtue.

I was talking that day to Hari Krishan, you know Hari Krishan? Sometime she is totally in her own mood, she doesn’t care. And sometimes she talks to me very nicely and I was saying to her, I said, “Hari Kishan, I want to salute you, I want to love you and I want to acknowledge something.”

She said, “What? Tell me, what is that, what is that you want to acknowledge?”

I said, “Your steadiness and your love for DharmaDharma A path of righteous living. It is both an ideal of virtue and a path of action that is infused with clear awareness and comprised of actions that are the soul in total synchrony with the universe. It is action without reaction or karma. is much more precious than anything I have seen around here.”

So what I am trying to reach to you is the purpose of life is not your friendship, purpose of life is not your children, purpose of life is not your richness, purpose of life is to simply understand how you can build your real spiritual credit. You can blow it with one act. But you cannot make it with one act. That’s the tragedy. Spiritual credit gets built up with a lot of constant efforts. And it's a continuous action. Spirituality is a continuous action. Spirituality is just like life. It is a flow of life, pure flow of life is called spirituality.

I was seeing that day that royal marriage where Prince of Wales and princess of Wales were getting married. And that was one moment I laughed. I cracked up. Because to my surprise the Prince of Wales who is future king of England, who will be constitutionally responsible to appoint the archbishop of Canterbury has to bow before him, kneel before him, just understand, actually the sovereign is the king or the queen. Archbishop is appointed by that but when inauguration happens or anything happens this sovereign kneels before only one man and that is the archbishop of Canterbury.

Spiritual domain is not a small domain. Spiritual domain is actually ultimate domain. That is why the oriental woman totally builds around her a habitat of spirituality, a landscape of spirituality. Her security is not her husband, her security is not her children, her security is not her home, her security is not her parents, her environments, her security is always her spiritual strength.

Therefore from the childhood she is oriented into one thing that herself, her spirituality is now, was and shall be a relationship, a way of relationship. And these things always keep her in grace. Some people spend all their life to earn grace, some people spend nothing, grace comes to them.

I had another beautiful experiment to share with you, there was a person, I know she used to wear banaBana , Baana One's outward projection, often refers to a specified clothing that projects a consciousness. so perfectly, there is hardly anybody here who can reach that standard and she was very darling in all the parties and wherever there was a representation but with God’s grace she left and she left wearing banaBana , Baana One's outward projection, often refers to a specified clothing that projects a consciousness. . And in one of the party she met some common friends and they did not recognize her. Naturally as a matter of curiosity she called up next day and said, “So and so, you met me in the party, I said hi to you, you said hi to me but you were not cordial.”

And they said, “Oh my God, was it you? What happened to you?”

And then it was her very effective recognition that banaBana , Baana One's outward projection, often refers to a specified clothing that projects a consciousness. … The question, which was asked to me is, “I am the same person. Why people relate to banaBana , Baana One's outward projection, often refers to a specified clothing that projects a consciousness. and not to me?”

I said very simply, “BanaBana , Baana One's outward projection, often refers to a specified clothing that projects a consciousness. gives another person a very comfortable state of mind. BanaBana , Baana One's outward projection, often refers to a specified clothing that projects a consciousness. tell another perso…”

That’s why all these priests and nuns were spiritually asked to wear banaBana , Baana One's outward projection, often refers to a specified clothing that projects a consciousness. . Because it gives you a committed identity. People maybe little hesitant to deal with you and talk to you and be with you, but in rational sense it will give them a very comfortable identity to relate to, because for these people you are not a commoner. So every person will feel that you will have special value, like India when a woman is married she will put that red color thing called Sindhoor in the split of her hair and in the forehead she will put a kind of a bindi, red spot. That was an indication that I am married and I have husband and I have commitment and I have a space. The idea, the way we live, the way we dress, the way we eat, the way we talk, the way we project is a very simple idea. If we can conveniently, committingly and gracefully let everybody know who we are, it will make another person absolutely very easy.

Some people told me once, when they are in banaBana , Baana One's outward projection, often refers to a specified clothing that projects a consciousness. , other people are hesitant to talk. Yes. There is also a situation that other person is hesitant to talk because it takes little courage to talk to a committed person. I almost freak out sixty percent of people. Sixty percent people cannot talk to me. My very presence is a trouble. My talking is hundred percent trouble, but my presence is about sixty percent trouble. Because it is very difficult to tolerate a man with a straightforward communication because normally people will like to talk about weather, how is weather, how is sky, what's going on, how you feel. These are the first introductory paraphernalia in which people are trying to be introduced. It is a fact that among people it's a very, very long time. It's a fact that it's a very, very long time that people will feel honest to communicate with each other. I am not saying straightforward that there is any kind of dishonesty in communication but there is not hundred percent honesty in communication. Why it happens? Because we are very self-protective.

In communicative psychology, in communicative psychology individual is very scared and is very protective of one’s own identity. So even you may have a best friend, you will talk very limited things with your friends, you will say certain things and then you will not say certain things, do you understand that? Oh these are those people from, that’s all right. You understand? You will say certain things and you will not say certain things, why?

Student: (----).

YB: Because you all basically feel that you have to protect yourself. Do you understand that?

I’ll like to welcome you in faith and I like you to learn first lessons. Sit down comfortably. Walk in among everybody and don’t bother, you are no different except you look different.

(Students' laughter...)

Walk into this classroom and squeeze yourself in wherever you find yourself comfortable. That much time is too much. Hurry up. If this gentleman cannot sit, give him a chair. Okay, now learn that.

Normally we don’t talk honestly. When we do not talk honesty that does not mean that we are dishonest. Remember that. Don’t get into a guilt consciousnessConsciousness The nature of the self and being. In the realm of nature, awareness becomes consciousness. It is from the being itself. Being is expressed in consciousness through contrasts and sensations, in awareness through merger, clarity, and reality. that we cannot talk honestly. We do not talk honestly; I am making a statement. Why? Because we believe always that we have to protect ourselves. To protect your ego or your identity you are always afraid to talk from the heart center. You always talk from the head. Do you agree or not?

Students: (-----)

YB: What do mean by yes? Don’t you have any different opinion than this?

(Students' laughter...)

Why not?

(Students' laughter...)

Now I tell you why. What I am going to say next, you are not going to like it. You do not talk honestly and you do not talk straight and you do not talk everything because you want to protect, that is agreed, right? Because you do not believe that God can protect you. I am yet to meet a one human being in my fifty-two years who honestly believes that God shall protect him and her and that person can speak straight from the heart. All this religion is bogus. It's hypocrisy. And among them you are also hypocrites. Your parents have not taught you how to speak truthfully, your religion doesn’t teach you how to speak truthfully, your psychologist and psychiatrist can’t help it and you can’t help it. Simply because you believe that the giver of identity the God is gone on sleep and you are the only defender of the faith and you alone can only defend your own identity. That’s your basic human problem. Animals express their emotions very truthfully, birds do it very openly, it is you who draw drapers and curtains and the whole thing. And that’s why we developed called diplomatic communication. A woman doesn’t talk to her husband, mother doesn’t talk to her children, sister doesn’t talk to brother, a disciple doesn’t talk to a GuruGuru That which takes us from ignorance to knowledge; from darkness, gu, to light, ru. It can be a person, a teaching, or in its most subtle form - the Word. , a believer doesn’t talk to a pastor, it's the whole thing, it's based on simple, it is called defensive communication. Your entire communication system is?

Student: Defensive.

YB: And you become so habitual that you cannot even pray. While praying to God you overextend yourself. God, give me a million dollars. And if he gives you million dollars and thief comes and rapes you and takes away the million dollars from you what the hell you are asking for? You don’t say, “God, do thy will.” How many of you pray that way, raise your hands. Don’t lie; this is the time. I don’t believe as many Americans can pray like that. I don’t believe that. You may raise your both hands. It is a desire to be desireless. It is a?

Students: Desire to be desireless.

YB: Prayer is no complete with words. Prayer is complete with tunement. Be in tune. Whenever you communicate with somebody and if you want to be respected and graceful and have credit and have auraAura The radiant field of energy and consciousness that surrounds the physical body and which holds and organizes the seven centers of energy called chakras. Its strength, measured by brightness and radius, determines the vitality, mental concerns, and psychophysical integrity of a person. around you and whatever, you have to learn to stay in tune with the other person’s self. It will be much better to say I shall not like to comment on this because I don’t feel that I trust you.

Therefore a oriental woman is trained basically from the childhood. She is trained basically from the childhood to be to learn to create around her a habitat or an environments or landscape so that she should learn to be respected. She is not very desirous, she is not desirous to be desirable, her makeup, her dress, her everything is not based on the fact that she should look like a gogo girl. That’s not her attitude. She doesn’t want to be known as a actress. She basically has been trained, she basically has been?

Students: Trained.

YB: To learn to reach one object that wherever she is and whatever she is, she should be respected for her values as a woman. For her values as a?

Students: Woman.

YB: For her values as a mother, for her values as a wife, for her values as a person, for her values as a neighbor, for her values, for her values, for her values, for her values, so she is constantly meditatively communicating to herself. It becomes her automatic psyche to be communicative in her own life and she achieves it so comfortably that it becomes a habit. Therefore we say a statement, oriental woman is habitually habituated to be respected in her personality, in her total surrounding. You understand that? So she walks, so she talks, so she eats, so she deals, so she goes to work, so she lives in home, so she delivers a baby, so she sleeps with her husband, so she dance with her husband, so she sometimes beats upon her husband.

(Students' laughter...)

Yeah. Oriental woman are trained to beat up a husband collectively.

(Students' laughter...)

You won’t believe that. I tell you a story.

There was one woman, her husband was habitual drunkard, kind of alcoholic, so she told in the street everybody that, “Sisters, I am in total pain.”

And they said well, she said, “My lord, instead of drinking the nectar of God ends up drinking this booze and he comes home every night drunk.”

So in India woman has no problem. This is the most organized community in the world. They are organized street wise, then sector wise, then they are city wise, and they are province wise and then on all India basis. Don’t misunderstand they look very humble, but they are not. So what happens is one evening he came drunk, so you know he was drunk and he was yelling and coming in the street. So when he entered her house two-three of her neighbors came in and he said, “Is there something wrong with you? Is there something wrong with you? Feel sick?”

He said, “No, go away, I don’t feel sick, I am okay, you feel sick, you feel sick…”

So seven-eight of them got hold of him and put him on bed and gave him such a massage that he was in hospital for fourteen days.

(Students' laughter...)

And then they told him, “If you ever enter in the street and you smell other than like a rose you will get this treatment each time.” So one day, I met him and I said, “Hey, so and so, what happened? I mean you are going towards the temple, this evening.”

He said, “It's a long story.”

I said, “What is the long story?”

He said, “Well, I can’t afford to drink.”

I said, “What happened? Some money gone or something else?”

He said, “No, no, no something else.”

So out of curiosity I started walking with him, I said, “I’ll go the temple too. But tell me what happened?”

He said, “You know your bhabhi…” bhabhi means brother’s wife, it means his wife, I know her, “She got mad at me.”

I said, “Oh, she is a gentlewoman, what mad she can be? She doesn’t even comment on a butterfly, what do you mean mad at you? I have never seen her mad in my life.”

He said, “Oh, yeah, yeah, she never gets mad, but all these street women got mad at me.”

I said, “I understand.” I said, “How blue you were?”

(Students' laughter...)

He said, “I was blue like Lord Krishna.”

(Students' laughter...)

In India there is a procedure to beat, they beat you with this side of the hand, the bruise never leaves your body for a month or so. And each time you move with hurts. It's very painful way of beating. It is what, when there was a period of inquisition you know, and they wanted to torture somebody that was the method adopted then also. It's a very old simple human way to torture to let hold of the guy and (?) and put him straightforward and keep him beating with this side and then turn him around and then start on his back.

So what I am trying to reach to you is that it does not matter that how simple you are, how effective you are in your own life but also God has given you a sensitivity to defend your own grace, so a soldier is a saint and a saint is a?

Students: Soldier.

YB: That is the combination, which you do not have to forget whether…. Don’t try I believe in most of the things that when somebody hit your right cheek you should offer your?

Students: Left.

YB: No, blow up his left. The guy will go and do something else to somebody else. When somebody offers you… Somebody hits your right cheek?

Students: (-----)

YB: Don’t hit his right cheek, then you become even. Blow off his left so that he may learn not to touch anybody’s cheek forever. One life is BhaktiBhakti Self-purification, The devotional form of yoga practiced by a Bhakta. . BhaktiBhakti Self-purification, The devotional form of yoga practiced by a Bhakta. is worship, devotion, one is ShaktiShakti The creative power and principle of existence itself. Without it nothing can manifest or bloom. It is feminine in nature. , ShaktiShakti The creative power and principle of existence itself. Without it nothing can manifest or bloom. It is feminine in nature. means power. The combination, God gave you a combination of BhaktiBhakti Self-purification, The devotional form of yoga practiced by a Bhakta. and ShaktiShakti The creative power and principle of existence itself. Without it nothing can manifest or bloom. It is feminine in nature. . Devotion and existence.

The purpose of life is to live in peace. Purpose of life is?

Students: To live in peace.

YB: But when it is impossible to live in peace, it is better to die for the peace. The purpose of life is to live free. But when somebody wants you to slave you, it is better you prefer death over?

Students: Slavery.

YB: That’s why you all are singing, we die before we?

Students: Fall.

YB: Death becomes meaningless. Death becomes?

Students: Meaningless.

YB: And there is no fear of death. Its purpose is righteousness. Normally if you get a nail in your hand what happens to you? Don’t you feel hurt? You think when they nailed the feet and hand of Jesus, he was not in pain? What do you think?

Students: (-----)

YB: No, he was not. No, he was not. He didn’t care. There was no pain. If your own son does something very insultingly crazy, it doesn’t hurt you. It makes you angry. Insanity is resisted by the spirit. That’s the law. Nature has made this body to immune itself in pain when torture and insanity comes to a righteous person. It's automatic glandular system.

That’s why when GuruGuru That which takes us from ignorance to knowledge; from darkness, gu, to light, ru. It can be a person, a teaching, or in its most subtle form - the Word. Guru Arjan Fifth Guru of the Sikhs. ArjanGuru Arjan Fifth Guru of the Sikhs. was made to ask to sit on a hot plate and hot sand was poured on his body for five days, there is no example of a human torture, there is no example of a?

Students: Human torture.

YB: But the GuruGuru That which takes us from ignorance to knowledge; from darkness, gu, to light, ru. It can be a person, a teaching, or in its most subtle form - the Word. satSat Existence; what is; the subtle essence of Infinity itself. in absolute calm and peace and quiet. There is no example equal to that. Why? Because the imperial forces were bent upon breaking him. And he has totally immunized himself because of the God’s light to be pure and there was no fear, no anger, no pain. If you do not have fear anger and pain, nothing can break you.

It is very recently in Los Angeles some guy saw a beautiful girl and started chasing her. So she instead of going to the main road started walking through the alley. You know what it means? And he was very happy, because he was a habitual rapist. He was habitual?

Students: Rapist.

YB: He said, wow, wow… You know. She is right there. So when she saw a suitable place, she started walking slowly, so he caught up with her and took out a knife, she loved it. All he knew is in second minute knife was going flying in the air and he was flat on the ground. She was a black belt.

(Students' laughter...)

YB: Then it didn’t stop there, by the time police came he has already committed(confessed) how many crime he has committed and what he did in his life and she was making him to walk like a frog.

(Students' laughter...)

She made him from the place where he attacked her to rape her. From that place onward she tied a rope around his neck, there was a string in her own purse, which she took it out and put it around his neck and made him to walk as a frog for which he wanted to sue her, because his hand was bleeding and feet was in terrible shape, she made him walk all those blocks as a frog to the police station and then she handed him over.

(Students' laughter...)

So I mean to say, just saying because somebody wants to rape me, so I am all right. That’s not human. You have been given intelligence of self-defense. And if you have not learnt self-defense you can go and kill yourself. Then you are not worth to be a human.

Human which has not trained himself and herself for an absolute accurate self defense has betrayed the law of nature. Therefore a oriental woman by her nature in existence is always trained and taught and is asked to specialize in her three things. Preservation of self-respect, perfection in her hygiene, and perfection in her self-defense. You have to basically understand and learn in depth that it is useless to live like a donkey that anybody can come and have a ride over you, that’s not the way.

In very recent story, in a very recent story the lady was living in her apartment and the guy broke up the window, window had a safety latch. So he knew the technology, he broke up the safety latch and very comfortably he disconnected, already he had disconnected all the security alarm. Can you, believe the thieves are getting much smarter than anything else. And because doing all that there was enough noise, her husband was not home, and she was like Nancy Reagan, she had under pillow her own self-defense and she was good at it. Surprisingly to this man’s identity who had a gun on his hand, she penetrated two bullets, totally taking out the palm of both hands. Blew it up.

Well, that is the way we started the west.

(Students' laughter...)

What has gone wrong now? It is the will of God. In God we?

Students: Trust.

YB: Those who don’t trust in God wants to come, commit thievery commit adultery, commit this, commit that, therefore don’t give up your heart, America is not that bad, it is still three thousand miles, three thousand miles, learn self-defense and learn to live in grace. If nobody wants to preserve your identity and honesty and grace, learn yourself. Time has come that you must try to orient yourself and in that orientation, learn your first right is, what is your first right? Your first right is to live. If you believe in God, do you or you not?

Student: (-----)

YB: I don’t think so. If you believe in God then you must believe in living. Got it? And if you believe in living you must believe in your self-defense. And if you believe in your self-defense you must be giving it top priority. How many of you feel that if time demands on you, you can defend yourself? My God, very poor, what happened to all these training we are giving you? Oh, you think this highway patrolman has a time for you? You really think that? That guy is hired to patrol the highways; policeman is hired to answer your call. But he can only answer one call at one time and suppose there is three hundred and eighty calls per minute you think he is going to come? Therefore why don’t you believe in GuruGuru That which takes us from ignorance to knowledge; from darkness, gu, to light, ru. It can be a person, a teaching, or in its most subtle form - the Word. ’s words?

“Apni athi apna, apay kaaj savariye.”

Write it down. “Apni athi apna, apay kaaj savariye.” With your own hands try to perfect your own domain and own work with your own grace. Whether you depend on police, whether you depend on highway patrol, whether you depend on this or that, it is ridiculous, you got to depend on your own self. Because when you try to depend on somebody you can be failed, you can meet a failure, somebody can fail you. But when it comes to you and your self-defense you have to at that time you will come through. And don’t try to misunderstand that it is very naïve. All holy men, have you seen them, they have a big staff in their hands.

Student: (----).

Side B

Did you see that movie in which Peter goes and his stick is staff and it grows into a tree, have you seen that? I mean with kind of staff in my hand I am much better on ten people.

So basically from the time immemorial to this day our orientation is to learn self-defense. So if you have not made up your mind that way yet, I am very grateful to nineteen eighties, by the end of this year I don’t think we will meet again. Because America the way it is going to change and it change its trend shall demand on each individual to be prepared for self-defense. I mean you should not have any trouble at all. You have a hard at anyway all the time, this turban is very, very defending. It's very difficult to cut through it.

The story of the Sikh soldier is when they used to come out of the rapid fire, they used to take that turban and take the lead out and then go and take these people who had a steel helmet on that, because that bullet through the helmet will go right through the brain and in turban, because they used to put a silken turban underneath and overneath the cotton turban, they used to come out safe. So basically if your turban is well done, it is a very good protection for this cantaloupe on the shoulders, which you call is head. You don’t use it, that’s why I call it cantaloupe.

(Students' laughter...)

And if you have both arms and you have meditative mind and you have your own defense mechanism with you and we are very grateful to God that religiously we are always supposed to be armed. And that is why you are never bare, naked available for any offense. When you are not preparing yourself for a defense you are already failing to defend yourself. When you are not preparing yourself to be intelligent you are already failing to be intelligent. Just remember, whatever is required in your life if you are not preparing to be that, you have already prepared to fail in that. If you are not learning to be graceful, you are already preparing to be obnoxious. If you are not preparing yourself to be righteous, you are preparing yourself to be destructive. I can tell you right now. I am very good for vitamins, vitamin B, vitamin C, vitamin A, vitamin D, multivitamins and megavitamins and all that. But there is one vitamin which works very well, and that’s called to live in grace. It is called vitamin live graca, okay? Make it something.

(Students' laughter...)

Make some medical name of it. Because when you live gracefully your glandular system, your nervous system and your total self is in peace. Graceful life has no? Complete the sentence. Graceful life has no?

Students: (-----)

YB: Come on, come on.

Student: (-----)

YB: Graceful life has no stress. Graceful human being has no?

Students: (-----)

YB: Vengeance! That is life, that’s a person, person has an identity, identity must have an ego, ego must react, react must get vengeance. But when you reach the realms of grace you don’t take vengeance. In oriental concept, in oriental?

Students: Concept.

YB: Communication is the greatest weapon. Communication is?

Students: Greatest weapon.

YB: And in that weapon the habitat is created for the person to be effective. Therefore the oriental woman takes care of the entire, entire what?

Student: (-----)

YB: Environment, in which her personality, her dignity, her divinity, her grace is?

Students: (-----)

YB: If you go really to some of the beautiful homes in Thailand and in South East Asia and in India, South India specially, where people are very ancient and very beautiful. You will be surprised in south India people never get fat normally. They are very skinny people and they have a very tan color, they are not black, they are not white, they are tan people, they are very intelligent, and their memory is so accurate that you ask somebody to give two billion into three hundred thirty hundred thousand dah-dah-dah multiply and then figure this and minus that and all that and they can do faster than computer. They are so sharp, very intelligent. Everybody knows two, three languages and all that. Very healthy. Live long time. Average age with them is eighty-ninety years. You will be bummed out on this, what is their food? Rice and there is little thing, what they call that SatSat Existence; what is; the subtle essence of Infinity itself. SimranSimran A deep meditative process in which the naam of the Infinite is remembered and dwelled in without conscious effort. ? What is that damn thing they call it is…

Student: (----).

YB: Sambar. Everybody eats it. They are crazy there. I have seen them eating like hell, I mean they go through it one after the other, and poor people and rich people amazingly eat the same thing and that is the secret, because that contains highest vitamin C.

Student: (----).

YB: I don’t know she once cooked it.

Student: (----).

YB: Simple food and they eat with hand, and they are fast than you can even imagine. I saw somebody eating, it was crazy to me, but gentleman was perfect.

And there is a most surprising situation that they are very humble people. Very non-offensive, very calm. And don’t misunderstand they all meditate. But if you go to their house which as surprisingly it was my privilege to be taken on a round to some houses, the most decorative small little thing in each house is their little temple or their little worship place or little altar and it is not only with the Hindus I saw that, I went to a Christian’s house, and they had beautiful little chapel, and I saw a muslim’s house and he has on the side built a place for his five prayers. And there is a very fascinating thing which I saw. I visited about twenty homes and each house door where you got the footpad was decorated with lot of painting and colors and that’s a sign of… Can you believe when a man might be coming tired in the evening, absolutely dead tired and sweaty and you know and he is not using (?) in your terms,

(Students' laughter...)

You sick westerners I can’t believe you. You know even you are so sick that you want to even stop the glandular system, you are the craziest I have seen and then you say I do not get breast cancer, I do not get chest cancer, I do not get lymph cancer, why not, you start the lymph cancer, you put that damn thing on your whole (?) system and you stopped your pores and reaction of body ends in cancer. You are responsible for it. Don’t bug God for it, mother nature does it to you.

Well, anyway they don’t use that (?) okay. And they come home and I saw one visiting. This gentleman came and he came, he stopped this car at the entry of the gate, he didn’t bring it right in, he stopped it there. Well, he walked all the way and then he was received by those beautiful flowery path and then his wife came out and she had rose water that thing in her hand, and she just did that to him and I felt good too, it was on me too, I was with him and we were received and he was a big officer, he was not a small ordinary person, he was a minister, so he went straight in his house and everything clothes, his change and everything was there, he took off all his suit and everything and then came out dressed very neat, clean, comfortable in white dhoti and white kurta and all that and then I went and I washed my hands and my face, I never knew that I should have brought extra cloth with me, so I was what I was. So we satSat Existence; what is; the subtle essence of Infinity itself. down in one place. And there was a very beautiful very polite way of entertaining and offering food, very respectable. There was no tension, there was nothing.

So what I saw in South India, in North India you will find people very martial, but in South India you will find people very humble, very peaceful, very intelligent, and mostly I attribute that to their eating habits; their food is very, very simple, and very sophisticated. Here you start early in the morning and I see it myself, every time I think when they designed refrigerator I couldn’t believe, why they put so many hinges?

(Students' laughter...)

Because that door opens and closes more of the time during the day than any door in the house. That is your worship place.

(Students' laughter...)

You go and… I see it, I mean to say I get sick of it when I see somebody. People, even in the ranchThe Ranch Yogi Bhajan's home just across the highway from the Aashram, and site of the Yogi Bhajan Memorial Birthday Celebration. . What we do every year is when I stay in the ranchThe Ranch Yogi Bhajan's home just across the highway from the Aashram, and site of the Yogi Bhajan Memorial Birthday Celebration. my way of entertaining…

SatSat Existence; what is; the subtle essence of Infinity itself. SimranSimran A deep meditative process in which the naam of the Infinite is remembered and dwelled in without conscious effort. , are you there? Call ranch and all these guests I am going to take them to ranch and they will be served tea or something to eat, ask them to make good pakodas and something and if you don’t want to do that ask somebody to put a reinforcement and moment we finish the class we will be taking them there. They are about twenty-five people. And no time should be wasted and don’t think of anything.

(Students' laughter...)

Yeah. Some volunteers, can you push out with her? We will let you know what we talk today afterwards. What we decided, get out fast, what are you doing? Out, out.

Okay, now I give you example, what we did in the ranchThe Ranch Yogi Bhajan's home just across the highway from the Aashram, and site of the Yogi Bhajan Memorial Birthday Celebration. was where my chair is, opposite to that I put up a mirror, sitting on that chair I can see what is going on in the kitchen absolutely. Now it was a part of the training because normally people think I am God, I don’t speak or close my eyes or do my whole thing. So that was absolutely very painful when I go to the Hacienda de Guru Ram Das , The Ashram The grounds of Yogi Bhajan's traditional home and ranch in Espanola, NM, as well the surrounding businesses, gurdwara and langar hall. ashramHacienda de Guru Ram Das , The Ashram The grounds of Yogi Bhajan's traditional home and ranch in Espanola, NM, as well the surrounding businesses, gurdwara and langar hall. Ashram , Aashram A community of practitioners who come together to live conscious, mindful lives. , teacher’s wife comes and she says, “Sir, do you want something?” I wanted to get out of that dehumanization I call it.

So what we did is we made some people by turn to come and work in the ranchThe Ranch Yogi Bhajan's home just across the highway from the Aashram, and site of the Yogi Bhajan Memorial Birthday Celebration. . And decidedly the situation was that we will deal in the ranchThe Ranch Yogi Bhajan's home just across the highway from the Aashram, and site of the Yogi Bhajan Memorial Birthday Celebration. like human, we’ll yell, we’ll scream, we’ll laugh, we will call for things, and we’ll do; in spite of the fact they got me a bell, if I need something ring the bell, things will come. I seldom use it; I don’t like it. We wanted to give them a experience that we are one in race, we are one in grace, and we are one in peace, then we are one in God. The attitude was that. And it was a privilege, but one thing I wanted to see, what happens in the kitchen.

There are two things you can judge a man how much near he is to God and how much away he is from God. One is in the kitchen and other is in the bathroom. Now it is very out of manners to see people in bathroom therefore I can’t afford to do that.

(Students' laughter...)

But I think it is all right to watch them in kitchen. And you believe me or not, that refrigerator is like a deity, is like a goddess, it is opened and closed with very calmness so that I may not hear, it's amazing our nature, our habit, that’s why I wrote that poem, I am blessed my soul has no belly.

(Students' laughter...)

If God would have given my soul another belly I would have been putting my soul in the refrigerator all the time.

Potentially the greatest discipline if you want to learn is, eat on time. You will never find oriental woman standing and eating. She will never eat first. She will eat in the last. And she will never eat for sake of eating, she will never cook for the sake of cooking, she will never serve for the sake of serving. It is amazing to let you know that I once asked my grandmother, I said, “Why you get up two hours earlier?”

She said, “I want to purify myself so that I can make butter for you.”

I said, “Two hours, what you do? Two hours.”

She said, “I do prayers.”

This is how they do. They do prayers before preparing the food, they do prayers during the food, they do prayers serving the food, they do prayers taking your utensils from you, it's prayer and prayer and prayer, there is a prayer machine in the house. The dignity of the oriental woman is in power of the prayer, and prayer is the power of God and she is the source of prayer. And I was amazed to see this time visiting… I mean to say what is your prayer? Some of you have been told don’t drive the car without a prayer, right? How many of you mess it? Now there is total astrological and total psychological purpose in that. When you drive the car you put the car and you start it, right? Is that true? Okay, what we ask you? We ask you to just pray. Right? Purpose is what? What is the purpose, so that you may not be dead. That’s the purpose. Because cause and effect must take place before the accident takes place. There has to be a specific space and specific you on that space when thing has to happen. Desh Kal must meet to make the Vidhi. A situation shall not happen if longitude and latitude and time will not coincide, remember the law. Longitude and latitude and time must coincide when a thing can happen. So what we say? Delay for one tenth of a minute or a second by doing a prayer, so that you may not be on that space, period.

Can you believe a woman in house who gets up in the morning and does the prayer, who does the laundry of her children, does the prayer, who prepares the food does the prayer, who eats the food does prayer, who sends her husband does the prayer, she receives the husband does the prayer, send the children to school does the prayer, receive them from school does the prayer, she puts them to bed does the prayer, she wakes them up does the prayer, what are you? Crazy bums, go to Las Vegas.

You don’t call yourself woman because a oriental woman by nature has learned she is the connection between God and in the family. That is her strength. Her strength is not getting her hairdo and look like a prostitute. And jump around and put (?) bras and do this and do that and sexuality and sensuality is not her strength. She is a very graceful link between God and?

Students: Family.

YB: And that’s why she runs the family, she controls the family, she serves the family, she praise the family. Strength in woman…

Who is the first teacher in the world?

Students: Mother.

YB: Mother. And if there is a good teacher what you do in return? Respect. So oriental woman learns her respect being the first teacher to the born in the family. Whether it's a boy or it is a?

Students: Girl.

YB: It is her orientation. And how she reaches God? How she reaches? Because she serves in the name of God. Her twenty-four hours are very divine. And what are your problems? ‘Oh, he is not good in sex with me, therefore I am going to divorce, we are not communicating we are going to get divorced, well, you know there is somebody else in my life, I am going to get divorced,’ and you started this country, oh foolish people, with one slogan, “In God we?”

Students: Trust.

YB: And you don’t trust anybody. You don’t trust your day, you don’t trust your night, God out of duty made the day and night so that you can rest, you can (?), He gave you consciousnessConsciousness The nature of the self and being. In the realm of nature, awareness becomes consciousness. It is from the being itself. Being is expressed in consciousness through contrasts and sensations, in awareness through merger, clarity, and reality. , He gave you meditationMeditation Dhyan. It is a process of deep concentration or merger into an object or a state of consciousness. Meditation releases reactions and unconscious habits and build the spontaneous and intuitive link to awareness itself. , He gave you mind, He gave you neutral mindNeutral Mind The most refined and often the least developed of the three Functional Minds. It judges and assesses. It witnesses and gives you clarity. It holds the power of intuition and the ability to see your purpose and destiny. It is the gateway for awareness. , He gave you negative mindNegative Mind One of the three Functional Minds. It is the fastest and acts to defend you. It asks, "How can this harm me? How can this limit or stop me?" It is also the power to just say no, stop something, or reject a direction of action. , He gave you positive mindPositive Mind One of the three Functional Minds. It elaborates, magnifies, extends, and assists. It asks, "How can this help me? How can I use this? What is the positive side of this?" , God equipped you with everything. And what you are doing in your life? Messing it up. You go to a beauty saloon and you think you are beautiful, no, you come little more ugly. Because you come little more passionate, you will come little more neurotic, you come out little bit more wanting, more desiring, and what is the law of love, love more and demand?

Students: Less.

YB: You have made love such a bargain in the west that sometime I found, I saw it in dictionary because I found God where? Where did I find my God? In dictionary. It is in English dictionary. It's a word, yeah, “In the beginning there was a word, word was with God and word was God,” right, so it's a word. But I found in the same dictionary word ‘love’ missing. So I meditated, I caught up the word love running, I said, “Hey, where are you going, come back.”

He said, “Forget it, these Caucasian white people, they have messed me around.”

And that’s why your life has wall-to-wall carpet, you have four-bedroom house, you have beautiful bathroom, you have cars and you have all sexual things, you have even machines, you can satisfy your sex. But you don’t have one thing. You don’t know what love is and you will never know what love is. Love is the flow of the soul. It comes from the spirit of the man. It doesn’t come from kisses and hugs and those I gave you garland, I sent you roses so you give me twenty kisses. That’s not love. That is just exchange of bacterias.

(Students' laughter...)

Your love is not more than that (?) what I have bacterias in my mouth, mine are not healthy, you are unhealthy, we end up having a fuss. That’s not love. Love is an experience… What is love? Define it.

Students: (-----)

YB: Love is an experience of selflessness. You always eat up the best word out of the whole thing. Why? Love is an experience of selflessness within one?

Students: Self.

YB: Therefore the habitat, that’s what we are talking today, right?

Habitat of the oriental woman has a total orientation to preserve her dignity, her divinity, her grace and her respect. So, therefore her dress, her way of dealing, wheeling, communication, serving, welcoming, asking you to leave, the whole thing, the human structure. As a psychoanalyst I’ll say she has analyzed herself into the communication psyche and sociologically into her personality that she is a well-posed goddess of the modern time. What she does? She gives security to man, she gives security to her children, she gives security to her neighbor and she emits one thing out of her, grace. She is a institution of?

Students: Grace.

YB: You know it is very funny, whenever you go to the western houses if there are ten chairs and fifteen people walk in, house mistress is in a mess, where to seat, what to do? You understand what I mean? And then I have seen, I have been invited to lot of houses, I have been never seen such a trouble than anywhere else. Where to sit, which chair for whom? Why you do that? Can you tell me? Come on, come on, I want to learn too, yeah.

Student: (----).

YB: Ranking order of the importance of the people? And near to the host, you are important, away from the house you are important? I mean you are by nature a racist, you can never believe even in well, food? My God, you see, that’s your basic nature. That’s why in Japan you will never find a host being received in a chair. (?) isn’t it? What they do? When I went to Tokyo to teach, I was received by an archbishop and surprisingly they don’t have doors which open backward like this, back and forth, because that takes space, so door has to go in and get out, simple. So when the door opens all we had is the pillows. And amazingly we all could sit in that room very comfortably.

There is a limitation, there is a limitation, that’s why GuruGuru That which takes us from ignorance to knowledge; from darkness, gu, to light, ru. It can be a person, a teaching, or in its most subtle form - the Word. Guru Amar Das Third Guru of the Sikhs. Amar DasGuru Amar Das Third Guru of the Sikhs. , the third Nanak started pangat. In Gondval Sahib even today, you cannot go to temple if you don’t go to the kitchen to eat first. It's a law. You first go to the lungarLangar , Lungar Free kitchen associated with Sikh worship service. , you sit among all and what is among all? Poor, rich, black, white, yellow, up, down, whatever it is. You sit there first and eat together and then come and pray. At Golden Temple each time more than ten thousand people are fed. Each time. And it is immaterial whether you are poor, you are rich, you are up, you are down, that’s why there is no Sikh ceremony which shall be considered complete without a?

Students: LungarLangar , Lungar Free kitchen associated with Sikh worship service. .

YB: LungarLangar , Lungar Free kitchen associated with Sikh worship service. , lungarLangar , Lungar Free kitchen associated with Sikh worship service. is almost a feast, right? Why is that? We have fulfilled the desire of our soul, we have calmed down meditatively our head, we have had the desire of our heart, therefore we must learn to socialize equal. And where you can test people who is equal-when you eat together in love and grace. That is the maryada of lungarLangar , Lungar Free kitchen associated with Sikh worship service. that even a king a beggar, they will sit together and eat and serve the same food at the same way. Is that clear?

Well, we have ten minutes and you can ask your questions so we will then dismiss. Yes.

Student: (----).

YB: Yeah, when you see people threatening each other in anger and if you have the capacity to bring peace, it's a very humane action. But church rats are not required to blow the organ. So don’t get into a fight when you do not know whether you have left hand or right hand. That’s what I say, it is very good to prepare yourself. Prepare yourself for defense, yep.

Student: (----).

YB: What?

Student: (----).

YB: I eat with my hands all the time. I am very grateful I have got all the cutlery of silver and all that. But you know that is for show, I love to eat with my hands because the healing hands, my hands are healing hands and I can heal myself through my own food. Otherwise how can I work twenty-two hours, I am not a miracle man. You have seen me, how many people have seen me in the Hacienda de Guru Ram Das , The Ashram The grounds of Yogi Bhajan's traditional home and ranch in Espanola, NM, as well the surrounding businesses, gurdwara and langar hall. ashramHacienda de Guru Ram Das , The Ashram The grounds of Yogi Bhajan's traditional home and ranch in Espanola, NM, as well the surrounding businesses, gurdwara and langar hall. I go in the kitchen, I touch everything with my hands, I prepare it, I cook it and I eat it and I live. Otherwise you guy would have eaten me up long time ago. You know…

Look at my job, it is almost 9 o'clock, I start answering the negativity, right? And it's up to 11 o'clock, continuous, right? Now what you think? I am a steel man? I am not a superman, I am just a humble human being. But you are what you eat. Food can give you power and sometimes your own spiritual power can penetrate through your own body, your own tissue, your own organ through the very touch of you.

You see what you say in the spiritual world? He touched my heart. Touch! And I touch my stomach and my tongue and my mouth when I make my food and put it in. I am sorry, you tried to teach me how to eat with spoons and forks and all that stuff, I’ll never learn it. I’ll refuse to learn it. Because I think you are barbarians. You have not learned to love food in right consciousnessConsciousness The nature of the self and being. In the realm of nature, awareness becomes consciousness. It is from the being itself. Being is expressed in consciousness through contrasts and sensations, in awareness through merger, clarity, and reality. . You cut your steak and eat it. That’s the way of your food, my way of food is not that, that’s why I always sit everywhere and I apologize. I love to eat salad with my two these fingers, I pick it up and put it in my mouth and I have seen once sitting in a table, everybody started eating like me because after all they respect me as religious man and sometime I head a table, so what do you see, if I am head of the conference or head of something and I eat the way I eat, naturally courtesy demands, people follow me. And that’s my way to teach them. God should have given you not hands, He should have given up to wrist right here, you don’t use your fingers, what for you need them? And you are very funny, I have seen some of you writing like that, like cripples write. Have you seen that?

(Students' laughter...)

That’s the sign of a scared person. When father and mother do not provide you love, your handholding is very weak. And there are no parents here. They are bunch of insecure people. So naturally the children have those deformations and I see this deformation happening in children. I saw a congressman, he wanted to write a note and he picked up a pen, and it was surprising, he started doing like this, I said, “It looks like you are whitewashing the paper.”

She said, “That’s the way I write.”

I said, “You better get your psychoanalysis and get your personality correct, you are in great trouble.”

It doesn’t matter who are you in life, question is whether you are complete in life or not. That is your prominence and that is your achievement in life, understand? Okay, what else?

Student: (----).

YB: Soul is constant; soul does not progress spiritually. Soul is constant. With the light of the soul the mind progresses spiritually and so the ten bodiesTen Bodies We are all spiritual beings having a human experience. In order to have this experience the spirit takes on 10 bodies or vehicles. As simple as that. Yep?

Student: (----).

YB: Could you do me a favor, call your husband on telephone and tell you are very happy?

Student: (----).

YB: Souls are the same, there are people who are elementary; elementary people are those who are always consciously conscious. Supplementary people are those who are making an effort to reach their consciousnessConsciousness The nature of the self and being. In the realm of nature, awareness becomes consciousness. It is from the being itself. Being is expressed in consciousness through contrasts and sensations, in awareness through merger, clarity, and reality. . Complementary people are those who are always subjecting themselves to find some kind of discipline to reach their consciousnessConsciousness The nature of the self and being. In the realm of nature, awareness becomes consciousness. It is from the being itself. Being is expressed in consciousness through contrasts and sensations, in awareness through merger, clarity, and reality. .

Purpose of life is to be elementary human being. Purpose of life is not to amass wealth. What wealth I have got? How much (?) you think I am? What do you think? Yeah.

Student: Priceless.

YB: Yeah, priceless in the sense I pay a lot of income tax.

The first thing I taught you is to earn through your own sweat. So I make money. So I pay my taxes, so that you can learn to make money and pay taxes. So you may not be bum all the time, sitting before the IRS, what you did, what you did, what you did? But in spite of all that, I make lot of money, I don’t keep any of it. I told you that day, I sit, I live in a very poorly nominal allowance. And I allowance myself. You want to know what? Now look at that, I draw one thousand dollar salary out of my income. Understand? I am in sixty one percent bracket, tax-wise. So what is left? Less than four hundred dollars. Is that clear? Do you understand that? I told you that day and that is the proper way of living. Make as much money you want. Go ahead. But live humble. Don’t live by your income. Live by your? Live by your allowance, and fix your own allowance. Difficult, isn’t it?

Yeah Sita.

Student: (----).

YB: Oh, yeah, yeah, role of a student, at the time of the student’s death, if spiritual teacher is real, you want to know? There are three types of spiritual teachers. Casual, moderate and real. Casuals are those who can pretend well spiritually. Moderate are those who know something and something they don’t know. And real are those who know all and say nothing. But if have a real spiritual teacher he shall penetrate through the magnetic field and reach the soul into the third ether. And then in his through own meditationMeditation Dhyan. It is a process of deep concentration or merger into an object or a state of consciousness. Meditation releases reactions and unconscious habits and build the spontaneous and intuitive link to awareness itself. power he will slip it at the ambrosial hour to the fourth ether, so the soul is redeemed. Waiting time is sometime from one hour to twenty-three hours. Because magnetic fields in which we leave our body and penetrate through the universal consciousnessConsciousness The nature of the self and being. In the realm of nature, awareness becomes consciousness. It is from the being itself. Being is expressed in consciousness through contrasts and sensations, in awareness through merger, clarity, and reality. are when rays of the sun are hitting and projecting at sixty degree. That’s what we say, wherever you are between 3 o'clock in the morning to 6 o'clock in the morning meditate. It's the law of sun energy. It's not something very commercial. You understand that? I didn’t come to America to disturb your sleep.

(Students' laughter...)

I knew you are crazy, so just to make you human I said don’t booze, become human. Don’t take drugs. Because remember, the law is very simple, when you take outside stimulant your inside stimulation becomes weak. That’s the law, simple law. Remember that. So don’t take outside stimulation, but all you have to learn to stimulate from inside. So if you can stimulate inside you can be perfect.

Yeah, Siri BaniBani Literally "Word", Refers to the Word of God contained in the Sikh Sacred Writings; Banis refers to Sikh daily prayers. .

Student: (----).

YB: With herself? I am the grace of God, and then find out where the grace is not and eliminate it. You know, it is just cleaning your own house cleaning, your own living room, cleaning your whole thing. It is your attitude that I am going to live clean, period. And everyday through meditationMeditation Dhyan. It is a process of deep concentration or merger into an object or a state of consciousness. Meditation releases reactions and unconscious habits and build the spontaneous and intuitive link to awareness itself. you have to clean your mental garbage. Whole day dealing through the… Can you believe if I don’t meditate one day what will happen to me. I’ll go crazy. I’ll have what they call, what kind of dreams you people get, what they call?

Students: (-----)

YB: Nightmares!

One day I was traveling in a train and I was having two-three people with me and everybody were sleeping and I was sleeping too, I was lying down, and I was kind of a dozily meditating and I was good. And one girl under (?) shouted kill him! Kill him!

(Students' laughter...)

YB: I said, oh God! So naturally I got up from the seat and we picked her up and she was sweating and she had a nightmare and I said, “What happened?”

And she said, “My father got killed! And I was asking for help…”

She told the whole dream. I closed my eyes, I said, “He is driving at this time, he is alive.” But we did went to next station and we made her get down and call, she found he is all right. But the nightmare was so real to her. It was exactly, somebody came and killed her father, the whole thing and she… I was telling her, hey, hey, hey, I said it is Germany. We were traveling through Europe, I said, it's Germany.

She said, “No, no, no, my father is killed, you don’t know, you (?).”

Even after opening her eyes, she was totally asking for help, she was very real, her total trauma was absolutely accurate, she didn’t believe that we are going to a tour and we are in Germany. We were between Bonn and some station going in train. So sometimes dreams are real and reality is?

Students: (-----)

YB: Dreams. But when you have a meditative mind, reality is reality; dream is a dream, right? All right, what happened to that song, that noble woman? How many of you remember now? Come on, let us sing it and close.

(Students sing...)

YB: Loud and clear.

(Song stops.)

YB: So live your truth and understand your virtues and just remember that life is nothing but a traveler’s lodge granted by the will of God and planet earth is nothing but ruled by the law, all things?

Students: Come from God.

YB: All things.

Students: Shall go to God.

YB: You possess nothing and therefore you owe nothing. That’s the life of a saint. You possess everything; you owe everything, that’s the life of a mayaMaya The creative power of the Creator that restricts and limits. It creates the sense of limitation that leads us to identify with experience, the ego, and things. Because of this it is often thought of as the illusion that blocks us from the spirit. But, as Guru Nanak (see Sikh Gurus) reminds us, you need not be attached to the productions of maya. Instead they can be used to serve and express the higher consciousness and spirit. Maya is simply Karta Purkh, the doing of the Great Being. Maya takes the ineffable into the realm of the measurable. . So don’t totally live the lies of the mayaMaya The creative power of the Creator that restricts and limits. Maya takes the ineffable into the realm of the measurable. , live the life, live the life of a truth.
